HYROX Training in Gonzales, LA
Regymen Fitness Ascension is the HYROX training gym for Gonzales and Ascension Parish. HYROX is one of our three coach-led workout formats, with dedicated HYROX workouts every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 7:30 AM — sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, wall balls, and carries, coached station by station. Members also get early-access codes to HYROX races as a membership benefit.

What Is HYROX?
HYROX is a fitness race built the same way in every city: a 1 km run, then one functional workout station, repeated eight times. Eight runs, eight stations, one finish line. Because the format never changes, you can measure yourself against your last race and against racers worldwide.
The eight stations are:
1. SkiErg — 1,000 m
2. Sled Push — 50 m
3. Sled Pull — 50 m
4. Burpee Broad Jumps — 80 m
5. Rowing — 1,000 m
6. Farmer’s Carry — 200 m
7. Sandbag Lunges — 100 m
8. Wall Balls — 100 reps
Race in Open, Pro, Doubles, or Relay divisions. First-timers and serious competitors cover the same course at their own level, which is exactly how we train it at Regymen.
Train for HYROX at Regymen
HYROX is one of the three formats our coaches run every week — BURN, BUILD, and HYROX. Dedicated HYROX workouts meet Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and Saturdays at 7:30 AM, and every session is coach-led: pacing on the runs, technique on the stations, and weights scaled to where you are right now.
Everything a HYROX race throws at you is in this room: sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, wall ball targets, kettlebells for carries, and sandbags. You train the exact stations, in the exact order, so race day feels like another Saturday.
Member Benefit: Early Access to HYROX Races
HYROX races sell out, and the best start waves go first. Regymen members get early-access codes to HYROX races as a benefit of membership — first shot at entries before general sale, including regional races like Houston and Atlanta in spring 2027.
Train with the crew all season, then race with the crew. That is the whole point of a training club.

Dedicated HYROX workouts run every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 7:30 AM at Regymen Fitness Ascension in Gonzales. Every session is coach-led and scaled to your level.
Do Regymen members get early access to HYROX races?
Yes. Early-access codes to HYROX races are a member benefit at Regymen, so members get first shot at race entries before general sale, including regional races like Houston and Atlanta.
I have never done HYROX. Can I start?

Where is Regymen Fitness Ascension?
14663 Airline Hwy, Suite 101, Gonzales, LA 70737 — serving Gonzales, Prairieville, Dutchtown, St. Amant, Geismar, and the greater Baton Rouge area. Call us at (225) 744-6495.
What are the eight HYROX stations?
In order, with a 1 km run before each one: SkiErg 1,000 m, sled push 50 m, sled pull 50 m, burpee broad jumps 80 m, rowing 1,000 m, farmer’s carry 200 m, sandbag lunges 100 m, and 100 wall balls. That is 8 km of running in total, and the format is identical at every HYROX race on earth — your time in Houston means the same thing as a time in London.
What weights are used in HYROX?
Weights depend on your division. In Open, women push a 102 kg sled and men 152 kg (sled weight included); the sled pull is 78 kg for women and 103 kg for men; farmer’s carry is 2 x 16 kg or 2 x 24 kg; the sandbag is 10 kg or 20 kg; and the wall ball is 4 kg or 6 kg for 100 reps. Pro women race at the men’s Open weights, and Pro men go heavier still. At Regymen you train on the same stations at loads scaled to you.
How long does a HYROX race take? What is a good HYROX time?
Most racers finish between 1 and 2 hours. Across more than 260,000 recent results, the median Open finish is about 1:26 for men and 1:35 for women, and most first-timers land between 1:40 and 2:10. The race is self-paced — you can walk the run segments and rest at stations. For a first race, finishing is a good time; after that, the clock gives you a number to chase.
Do I need to qualify for HYROX?
No. Anyone 16 or older can register online for Open, Pro, Doubles, or Relay — no qualifying time and no invitation. Popular races do sell out, which is why Regymen members get early-access codes 48 hours before general sale.
HYROX vs CrossFit — what’s the difference?
HYROX is a race with a fixed format: the same 8 runs and 8 stations, in the same order, at every event in the world, so your finish time is comparable anywhere. CrossFit workouts change daily and include Olympic lifting and gymnastics skills. HYROX movements are simple enough to learn in one session, and half the race is running. Plenty of people train both — HYROX gives you a finish line and a date to train for.
How much does a HYROX race entry cost?
In the US, a solo entry typically runs about $130 to $195 depending on the city. Doubles costs a little less per person, and Relay is about $95 per person. Prices climb as start waves fill, and big-city races sell out months ahead — Regymen members get early-access codes 48 hours before general sale, which means first shot at the early waves.
When are the next HYROX races near Louisiana?
The closest races for Louisiana athletes are HYROX Houston, April 1-4, 2027 at NRG Center, and HYROX Atlanta, April 23-25, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The Regymen crew is training for both, and members receive early-access codes before general sale.
How long should I train before my first HYROX?
With a basic fitness base, 8 to 12 weeks of focused training gets most people ready for their first HYROX. Starting from zero, plan on 3 to 6 months. Regymen’s Wednesday and Saturday HYROX sessions train the stations, and the week’s other coached workouts (BURN and BUILD) build the engine — most of our crew is racing Houston in April 2027 after a winter of exactly this.
