Getting Started & Free Trial

Where is Regymen Fitness Ascension?

We are at 14663 Airline Hwy, Suite 101 in Gonzales, LA — right on Airline Highway, easy to reach from Prairieville, Dutchtown, and St. Amant. Parking is right out front, and you can call us at (225) 744-6495.

How do I try Regymen for free?

Your first step is completely free: a free workout at Regymen Fitness Ascension, a FREE Fit3D body scan, and a FREE personalized nutrition program from Coach L at Xtreme Performance Nutrition. It is by appointment so a coach is dedicated to you — call (225) 744-6495 or book through this site.

What can I get for free at Regymen?

More than you'd expect: a free workout, a FREE Fit3D body scan, and a FREE personalized nutrition program from Coach L — all by appointment, no card required. Online, the macro calculator is free, and Coach L's book Strong After 40 (eBook and audiobook) is a free download. Every quarter we also run a free 90-minute outdoor community workout open to everyone, and on November 5 the free live event "How to Keep Your Muscle on GLP-1" includes Strong After 40 and the Bloodwork Checklist as registration gifts.

Do I need a credit card to claim the free workout?

No. The free start — workout, Fit3D scan, and consultation with Coach L — requires no card and no commitment. It's by appointment and zero pressure; you decide what happens next only after you've seen your numbers.

How long does the free first appointment take?

About an hour. In one visit you get your Fit3D scan (the scan itself takes about a minute), a coach-led workout scaled to you, and your consultation with Coach L, who builds your personalized nutrition program from your scan numbers with you.

Can I just walk in, or do I need an appointment?

The free start is by appointment — that's how a coach is dedicated to you and your scan and consult are ready when you arrive. You're welcome to reach us during front desk hours (Mon–Wed 6 AM–7 PM, Thu 6 AM–6 PM, Fri 6 AM–4:30 PM, Sat 6 AM–10:30 AM) or call (225) 744-6495 and we'll set your appointment.

What happens at my first visit, step by step?

Step one: your Fit3D scan — about a minute — shows your body fat, muscle, and exactly where you're starting. Step two: a coach-led workout in any format (BURN, BUILD, or HYROX), scaled to your level. Step three: Coach L builds your personalized nutrition program from your scan numbers. You leave with your numbers and a plan — all free.

I'm a beginner, or I haven't worked out in years. Is this for me?

Yes — most of our members are everyday adults, not athletes. Every workout is led by a coach who shows you each movement, adjusts it to your level, and makes sure your form is safe. You will never be left standing in a big room wondering what to do.

I'm nervous about working out in a group. Will I fit in?

Almost everyone here started nervous — most of our members are everyday adults over 35, not athletes. This is a family-run gym where the coaches know your name, your numbers, and your goals, and every movement is scaled to you. Members say it plainly: they joined for the workout and stayed for the community.

What is a workout at Regymen actually like?

Workouts are coach-led, small-group sessions built around strength training and short bursts of conditioning — in three rotating formats: BURN (metabolic conditioning), BUILD (strength-focused), and HYROX training. You get in, train hard with a coach guiding you, and get on with your day. No wandering around a giant gym floor on your own.

What should I bring to my first workout?

Just workout clothes, comfortable shoes, and a water bottle. We handle everything else — the plan, the coaching, and the equipment.

Should I eat before my first workout?

As a general rule, a light snack about an hour before — something like yogurt, a banana, or a small smoothie — gives you energy without weighing you down, and hydrate before you come. Your coach can fine-tune pre-workout fueling with your nutrition program after your first visit.

What are your hours?

Coach-led workouts start early — our coaches run a 4:45 AM workout Monday through Friday. Front desk hours are Monday to Wednesday 6 AM–7 PM, Thursday 6 AM–6 PM, Friday 6 AM–4:30 PM, Saturday 6 AM–10:30 AM, and closed Sundays. Free workouts and Fit3D scans are by appointment — call (225) 744-6495 to schedule yours.

Where exactly are you located — what's nearby?

We're inside the Lagniappe Centre at the corner of Airline Highway and Duplessis Road in Gonzales — near the Neighborhood Walmart, Rouses Market, and Starbucks, with parking right out front. We're an easy drive from Prairieville, Dutchtown, and St. Amant.

Am I too old to start working out?

No — and that's not a sales line here. The majority of our members are over 35, members in their 50s, 60s, and beyond train every week, and Coach L himself is 51 and trains alongside his members. Your coach scales every workout to you, and your starting point is measured with a free Fit3D scan, not guessed.

Why Regymen Is Different

How is Regymen different from a regular gym?

At a regular gym, you rent equipment and figure everything else out yourself. At Regymen, every workout is led by a coach who knows your name, your numbers, and your limitations; your nutrition is built personally by Coach L from your Fit3D scan; and your progress is measured in body fat and muscle, not guesses. It's the difference between holding a gym membership and having a system.

Why not just join a big open gym for less money?

You can — plenty of our members kept theirs, and our Limited plan (2 coached workouts a week) is built for exactly that. What the big gym sells is access. What it can't give you is a coach watching your form, a plan built from your scan, food targets built by Coach L, and a room that notices when you don't show up. Most people don't quit gyms over price; they quit because nothing was working and nobody knew their name.

How is this different from other group-class gyms and boot camps?

Three things. One: every session is coached in a small group by the same coaches — the owners — not whoever is on the schedule. Two: your training is set from your Fit3D scan and re-measured, so the program is personal even inside a group. Three: nutrition isn't an upsell pamphlet — Coach L builds your program from your scan, blood work, medications, and the foods you like. Group energy, personal numbers.

Why does every workout need a coach? Can't I just follow a program?

Because form, load, and effort are where results come from — and where injuries come from — and a piece of paper can't watch any of them. A coach scales the workout to your joints and your day, pushes you past where you'd stop alone, and catches the mistake before it costs you a month. Our members don't program anything. They show up and get coached. That's the product.

Isn't small-group training just a cheaper, worse version of personal training?

It's a different tool, not a lesser one. You get a coach watching your form and scaling your work, programming set from your scan, and nutrition built in — plus the accountability of a group that expects you there. One-on-one personal training is available here too, and at your free consult we'll tell you honestly which one fits your goals. Most members choose the group and never look back.

Why does the nutrition program matter so much? Can't I just work out?

Because training is only half of body composition. You can't out-train protein that's too low — especially after 35, and doubly on a GLP-1 — and muscle is the thing that keeps the weight off. Here, nutrition isn't homework you're left alone with: Coach L builds your program from your scan, blood work, medications, current supplements, and the foods you like, then monitors it with re-scans. We don't guess. We measure.

Why do you measure body scans instead of scale weight like everybody else?

Because the scale can't tell fat from muscle. You can lose five pounds of muscle and the scale calls it progress. The Fit3D separates body fat, lean muscle, and measurements, so we know what's actually changing — and your training and food get adjusted from data. On day 30 of the Reset you re-scan and see it in numbers, not opinions.

Who owns this place — will I ever actually meet the owners?

You'll train with them daily. Regymen Ascension is owned by Laie and Emily Wong, who live right here in Gonzales: Emily is the head coach on the floor, and Laie — Coach L — builds every member's nutrition program. You're not training under a rotating staff at a corporate location. You're training with the owners, and they'll know your name by week two.

Why do you talk about GLP-1 medications when other gyms don't?

Because a lot of our members are on the shots, and most gyms have no answer for the muscle loss that can come with them. We built one: the Strong on the Shot system — protein targets set from your scan, strength training that protects muscle, Fit3D proof of what you're actually losing, plus the books and the free Nov 5 live event. Your medication stays between you and your provider. The muscle is our department.

What's actually different about the community here?

Community here is a system, not a vibe. Every quarter we run a free 90-minute outdoor workout for the whole community — members or not. Birthdays mean a workout with your name on a sign. Milestones go up on the wall. Coach L's rule, from his own story: find your community — going alone is never a good idea. A room that knows your name is why people stay.

Do your members actually stick around?

The Milestone Wall answers that: Brittany has logged 1,000 workouts here; Jesper Holm and Renee Legendre are at 750; new members hit 50 every month. People stay because it's working and because it's theirs — Anthony got his life back, Jamie went from an XL shirt to a small, Cindy lost 19% body fat. Every one of them started with the same free workout and free scan you're being offered.

Why do you give away the workout, the scan, and the nutrition program for free?

Because we'd rather prove it than pitch it. The free workout, free Fit3D scan, and free personalized nutrition program show you your real starting point and exactly how we'd coach you — then you decide with facts in front of you. No card required, and no long-term contract to start. A gym that's sure of its product can afford to let you test it.

The Workouts (BURN / BUILD / HYROX)

What is BURN?

BURN is our conditioning format: heart-rate-based training on treadmills, ergs, and intervals that change every day. Heart-rate screens guide the work, so you're always training at the right intensity for you — you'll never do the same workout twice, and you'll never be left guessing what to do.

What is BUILD?

BUILD is our strength format — strength training with a coach on the floor, scaled to your joints, your history, and your level. This is the format that protects your muscle while the fat comes off, and it's the work that changes how you look, move, and feel.

What's the difference between BURN, BUILD, and HYROX — and which one should I do?

BURN builds your engine with heart-rate-based conditioning, BUILD builds strength and muscle, and HYROX trains you for the fitness-race format of running plus functional stations. You don't have to pick just one — the formats rotate, your free first workout can be any of the three, and your coach matches the mix to your goals at your consultation.

Will I do the same workout every time?

No. The workouts change every day — new intervals, new combinations, new challenges — inside the three proven formats. What stays the same is the structure: a coach leading, your form watched, and your progress measured against your Fit3D scans.

What equipment do you use?

Treadmills and ergs (rowers and SkiErgs) for conditioning, plus the functional strength lineup the formats call for — weights, sleds, wall balls, and carries. It's all here and it's all coached; you bring workout clothes, shoes, and a water bottle, and we handle everything else.

Do the workouts use heart-rate monitoring?

Yes — BURN is heart-rate-based training, and heart-rate screens in the room guide the work so your intensity matches your body that day, not somebody else's pace. It's one more way we train on numbers instead of guesses. *(Whether members need their own monitor: FOR LAIE → #8.)*

Is there running in the workouts? I'm not a runner.

Running shows up mainly in HYROX training, and like everything here it's scaled — intervals and distances are adjusted to your level, and conditioning can also be built on the ergs and treadmills. You don't need to be a runner to start; the coaching meets you where you are and builds from there.

Do I need to be in shape before I start?

No — getting in shape is the job of the program, not the entry requirement. Most members start as everyday adults who haven't trained in years; every workout is scaled by a coach, and your Fit3D scan sets a starting line we build from. Waiting to "get fit first" is the one plan that never works.

Will lifting weights make me bulky?

No. Building muscle at the level most adults train gives you the firm, capable, leaner look people actually want — getting "bulky" takes years of deliberate surplus eating and very heavy training. What strength work does quickly is protect your muscle, support your joints and bones, and change how you look and move — that's the whole point of BUILD.

What is HYROX training?

HYROX is a fitness-race format that combines running with functional workout stations. Regymen trains members for it — and you do not have to race to benefit. The training builds the engine and strength that make everyday life easier.

What are the 8 HYROX stations?

A HYROX race is 8 rounds of a 1 km run followed by one station, always in the same order: SkiErg (1,000 m), sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing (1,000 m), farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and 100 wall balls. Our coaches train you on every station — Regymen is a HYROX training gym.

Can a beginner do HYROX training?

Yes. HYROX training scales like everything else here — loads, distances, and intervals are set to your level, and plenty of members train HYROX-style with no plan to ever race. If you do want a finish line one day, the training builds the engine and strength for it at your pace.

How long does it take to get ready for a first HYROX race?

As a general guide, most first-timers build for roughly 8–12 weeks of consistent training — less if you already run and lift, more if you're starting from scratch. At Regymen your coach builds that runway from your Fit3D scan and your starting fitness, so the timeline is based on your numbers, not a generic calendar.

Do I have to race HYROX to do the HYROX workouts?

No. Plenty of members do HYROX training purely because it's a powerful mix of running and functional strength — the race is optional. Chasing a finish line or just training like it: this room works for both.

Group Training & Coaching

Are workouts coach-led, or do I train on my own?

Every session is led by a coach — head coach Emily Wong, coach Tiana Wong, and our team — who demonstrate the movements, watch your form, and scale the work to you. Regymen is coach-led small-group training: personal-training attention without having to program anything yourself.

Do you offer personal training or small-group training?

Yes — alongside the coach-led classes, personal training and small-group options are available. At your free consult we match the format to your goals, your schedule, and how much coaching you want.

Will the coach actually watch my form?

Yes — that's the model. A coach is on the floor every session: form checked, weights picked, pace pushed. You're never wandering a gym floor alone, and because the same coaches see you every week, they know your limitations and when to push.

What's the difference between training here and a big-box gym?

At a big-box gym you rent access to equipment and figure the rest out yourself. Here, every workout is coached, your plan starts from a Fit3D scan, your nutrition is built by Coach L, and the coaches know your name and your numbers. Members describe it as personal-training attention inside a group that keeps you showing up.

Small-group training vs. 1-on-1 personal training — which is right for me?

Small-group training gives you a coach watching your form and scaling your work, plus the energy and accountability of the group — and it's how most of our members train. One-on-one personal training gives you undivided attention and a fully individual session. Both are available here; at your free consult we match the format to your goals, your schedule, and how much coaching you want.

Can I get 1-on-1 personal training at Regymen?

Yes — personal training is available alongside the coach-led group workouts. The best place to sort out which format fits is your free consultation, where we match the coaching to your goals, schedule, and how much one-on-one attention you want.

How many days a week should I come?

Most members do great with 3–4 workouts a week. Because your Reset includes unlimited workouts, you can come as often as your schedule and recovery allow — your coach will help you find the right rhythm.

Will I be sore after my first workouts?

Some soreness in the first week or two is normal — it means muscles are being asked to work again, and it fades as your body adapts. Your coach scales your starting loads so you can move the next day, and it gets easier fast; most people feel a difference in energy and strength within the first two weeks.

I have bad knees (or a shoulder, or a back). Can I still do the workouts?

In most cases, yes — tell your coach what's going on and the movements get modified around it; that's the advantage of a coach watching every session. For medical conditions, check with your provider first, then bring us their guidance and we'll build around it.

Can I train if I have an injury or a limitation?

In most cases, yes — tell your coach what is going on and the movements get modified around it. That is the advantage of a coach watching every session. For medical conditions, check with your provider first, then bring us their guidance and we will build around it.

Nutrition & Coach L

What is the personalized nutrition program?

Coach L builds your program from your Fit3D numbers — and in the full coaching program, from your blood work, your current medications, your current supplements, and the foods you actually like — then it is monitored with real scans. It is the opposite of a template diet: the general method is one thing; the consult is the method built on your data, with an emphasis on enough protein to keep your muscle.

Do I have to buy supplements?

No. Supplements are tools, not requirements, and nothing is pushed on you. When something genuinely fits your goal, Coach L will explain why — recommendations come from Xtreme Performance Nutrition right here on Airline Hwy in Gonzales, where the same standard applies: we don't guess.

Do you help with nutrition, or just workouts?

Nutrition is half the system here. Coach L personally builds every member's nutrition program from their Fit3D scan — and in the full coaching program, from your blood work, medications, supplements, and the foods you like — then monitors it with re-scans. It starts free: your first program comes with your free workout and free scan.

What are macros?

Macros — protein, carbs, and fat — are where your calories come from, and each one does a different job: protein protects and builds muscle, carbs fuel training, fat supports hormones and recovery. Your program sets a daily target for each, built from your Fit3D numbers — and our free online macro calculator gives you a starting set of numbers in about 60 seconds.

How does the free macro calculator work?

Enter your weight, height, body fat percentage (and how you got it — scan, calipers, smart scale, or a guess), your activity level, and your goal, and it builds your daily calories, protein, carbs, and fat — the same math Coach L starts from. Then bring it in: a free Fit3D scan replaces the guessed body-fat number with a measured one, and we rebuild your targets from real data.

How much protein should I eat?

Enough to protect your muscle — that's the non-negotiable, and it matters more after 35 and far more on a GLP-1. Your exact daily target is set from your Fit3D numbers at your consultation, because the right number depends on your lean mass and your goal, not a generic chart. Protein first, at every meal, is the rule Coach L builds every program around.

Do I have to count calories and track everything I eat?

Your program comes with clear daily targets — calories, protein, carbs, and fat — built for your body, and your coaches check your progress against real Fit3D scans instead of guesswork. The $499 program adds a full 30 days of personal coaching on top, so you're guided day to day, not handed numbers and wished luck.

Will I get an actual meal plan, or just numbers?

Both paths exist. Your personalized program is built around the foods you actually like, with targets set from your scan. If you want meals, portions, and a grocery framework in your hands today, the $9 Starter Macro Plan does exactly that from your calculator numbers — and the full program then personalizes and monitors it with scans.

Do I have to give up carbs or the foods I love?

No. Coach L builds your program from the foods you actually like — that's a design rule here, not a slogan — and there are no starvation diets. The structure is protein first and portions that fit your numbers, so the plan is one you can still be running a year from now.

I'm a picky eater. Can this still work for me?

Yes — the program is built from foods you actually like, which is exactly why it starts with a consultation instead of a printed template. Tell Coach L what you won't eat and what you love; the plan gets built inside that, on top of your scan numbers, blood work, and medications.

Can Coach L build my program around my medications and blood work?

That's exactly how the full program works: it's built from your blood work, your current medications, your current supplements, and the foods you like, then monitored with real scans. Your medication decisions always stay with your provider — our side is the food, the training, and the follow-through, built with your full picture in view.

Does the nutrition program cost extra?

Your first personalized nutrition program is FREE — it comes with the free workout and free Fit3D scan that start everything here. The 30-Day Reset ($199) includes a 30-day personalized program, and the $499 tier adds personal nutrition coaching for the full 30 days plus your initial supplements.

What's the $9 Starter Macro Plan — and how is it different from the full program?

It's the do-it-yourself starting step: your calculator numbers turned into a ready-to-follow plan — meals, portions, and a grocery framework — for $9, instant download, from our sister store Xtreme Performance Nutrition. Honest label: it's a starter plan. The full program is different — personalized from your blood work, medications, supplements, and foods you like, and monitored with Fit3D scans.

I don't live near Gonzales. Can I still get nutrition help?

Yes. The macro calculator is free anywhere, the $9 Starter Macro Plan is built for exactly your situation, and Coach L's books — Strong on the Shot for GLP-1 users and the free Strong After 40 — are instant downloads with audio versions. The scan-based full programs are in-person, because they start with a measured Fit3D scan.

How often will my nutrition program change?

As your body changes. Programs are monitored with real Fit3D scans and adjusted as the numbers move — that's the difference between a program and a printout. Your day-30 re-scan on the Reset is the first built-in adjustment point.

What supplements do I actually need?

None are required — supplements are tools, not requirements, and nothing is pushed on you here. When something genuinely fits your goal, Coach L explains why before you spend a dollar. (If you choose the $499 program, your initial supplements for your goal are already included.)

Where do supplement recommendations come from?

From Coach L, and they're filled right next door at Xtreme Performance Nutrition — our family's store at 14639 Airline Hwy, run on the same standard as the gym: we don't guess. Because the same family runs both, your training, your food, and your supplements are one coordinated plan, not three sales pitches.

Fit3D Scans & Tracking

What is a Fit3D scan?

The Fit3D is a quick, private 3D body-composition scan that measures far more than a scale — body fat percentage, lean muscle, posture, and measurements across your whole body. It takes about a minute, there is no pinching or guesswork, and your coach reviews the results with you so you know exactly where you are starting.

Why do you start with a scan instead of just a weigh-in?

Because the scale lies. You can lose fat and gain muscle and weigh exactly the same — and that is a win the scale would call nothing. The Fit3D shows the changes that actually matter, which keeps you motivated and lets your coach adjust your program with real data. We don't guess.

How much does a Fit3D scan cost?

Your first scan is FREE — it comes with the free workout and free nutrition program that start everything here. The 30-Day Reset includes 2 free scans, one at the start and one at the end, so your progress is measured, not guessed.

What do I actually do during the scan?

You stand on the scanner for about a minute while it captures a full 3D picture of your body — no pinching, no calipers, no guesswork. Then your coach reviews the results with you: body fat percentage, lean muscle, posture, and measurements across your whole body, and what they mean for your plan.

Is the scan private?

Yes — it's quick and private, and there's no pinching or hands-on measuring like old-school body-fat tests. Your results are reviewed with you by your coach, and they become the baseline your program is built on.

How accurate is a Fit3D scan compared to a DEXA scan?

They're different tools. DEXA is a clinical X-ray scan; Fit3D builds your numbers from a 3D image of your body's shape, volume, and measurements, using models validated against clinical methods. For what we do — tracking your change over time on the same machine, under the same conditions — it's consistent and honest, and consistency is what makes progress measurable. One scan is a snapshot; your trend is the truth.

How often should I get re-scanned?

Often enough to steer by. The Reset builds it in: scan on day one, scan on day 30, compare. In general, about once a month is the rhythm that shows real change in body fat and lean muscle without chasing daily noise — and your program is adjusted from those numbers each time.

Can the scan tell whether I'm losing fat or losing muscle?

Yes — that's the entire reason we use it. The scan tracks body fat and lean muscle separately, so if the weight dropping is fat, we can prove it — and if muscle starts slipping, especially for members on GLP-1 medications, we catch it early and adjust protein and training before it costs you.

How should I prepare for an accurate scan?

Consistency is the trick: scan under similar conditions each time — similar time of day, normally hydrated, in fitted workout clothing — so scan-to-scan comparisons are apples to apples. Your coach will walk you through it at your first appointment; it takes about a minute.

Can I get a Fit3D scan without joining the gym?

Your first one requires no membership at all — it's free with the free workout and consultation that start everything here. Come get measured, see your numbers, and decide what to do with them afterward.

GLP-1 Support

I'm on a GLP-1 medication like Ozempic or Wegovy. Should I be working out?

Yes — and strength training matters even more for you. These medications can cause muscle loss along with fat loss, especially when appetite drops and protein falls with it. Our workouts and protein-focused nutrition programs are built to help you protect your muscle and bone density while the weight comes off — and Fit3D scans prove whether you are losing fat or losing muscle. If you can't eat enough, you drink your macros; we will show you how. Always follow your provider's guidance on your medication — we handle the training and nutrition.

What is the free GLP-1 live event on November 5?

How to Keep Your Muscle on GLP-1 — a free online teaching live with Coach L on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 7:00 PM CT. Register free at regymenfitnessascension.com/glp1-live — everyone who registers gets the Strong After 40 e-book and the Built to Last bloodwork checklist as signup gifts.

What is Regymen's GLP-1 support program?

It's a system, not a pill: coach-led strength training to protect muscle, protein targets set from your Fit3D scan by Coach L, and regular scans that prove whether you're losing fat or losing muscle. Around it sit the tools — the Strong on the Shot books, the free Nov 5 live, and the bloodwork checklist to take to your provider. Many of our members are on GLP-1s; this program exists because they needed a gym with an actual answer for muscle loss.

Do you prescribe or sell GLP-1 medication?

No. Regymen does not prescribe, sell, or adjust medication — ever. Your GLP-1 decisions belong to you and your provider; always talk to your provider first. Our lane is the training, the food, and the muscle: the work that decides what kind of weight you lose and what you keep when the program ends.

Why do people lose muscle on GLP-1 medications?

Education, plainly: these medications cut appetite hard, so total food — and especially protein — drops, and the body in a steep deficit gives up lean tissue along with fat. Studies of GLP-1 weight loss consistently find a meaningful share of the pounds lost can be lean mass when protein and resistance training aren't in place. The fix is known: enough protein and regular strength training — which is exactly what our program is built around.

How much protein do I need while I'm on a GLP-1?

More than your appetite will volunteer — that's the trap. As a general education range, the research on GLP-1 muscle preservation points to roughly 1.2–1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight a day, spread across the day. Your personal target is set from your Fit3D lean-mass numbers at your free consultation, and Coach L builds your program to hit it. Talk to your provider about anything medication-related; the protein plan is our side.

I can barely eat on my medication. How am I supposed to hit my protein target?

Our standing rule: if you can't eat, you drink your macros. Liquid protein — shakes and drinks built into your program — gets protein in when solid food won't sit, in smaller amounts across the day instead of big meals. Coach L builds that into your plan from your scan numbers, and it's one of the core teachings in Strong on the Shot and the Nov 5 live.

Can I build muscle while on a GLP-1, or only protect what I have?

Protecting what you have is the first job, and it's a win worth fighting for. That said, people new to strength training commonly gain some muscle while losing fat, even in a deficit — and your Fit3D scans will show you exactly which way your lean mass is moving, so we're never guessing about it.

What happens if I stop taking my GLP-1?

Generally, regain risk is real — appetite returns, and weight regained without muscle and habits in place tends to come back as fat. That's the case for building the system while the medication gives you a window: muscle, protein habits, and a training routine are what you keep. Any decision about starting or stopping the medication itself belongs to you and your provider.

I'm losing hair and feeling weak on my shot. Can you help?

Those are common complaints on GLP-1s, and they're often tied to eating far too little — protein and total nutrition falling off a cliff. Our side: a protein-first program built from your scan, training scaled to your energy, and Strong on the Shot, which covers keeping muscle, hair, and energy while the weight comes off. If symptoms persist or worry you, talk to your provider — that's their lane, and we'll build around their guidance.

Is there a book about keeping muscle on a GLP-1?

Yes — Coach L wrote it. Strong on the Shot (Women's and Men's editions) is the muscle-protection playbook: protein, training, and the drink-your-macros rule that keeps the weight coming off the right way. It's $15 for the eBook or $35 with the audiobook in the Regymen store, and every book has a free audio sample. Strong After 40, his book on training and protein after 40, is a free download.

What is the Built to Last Bloodwork Checklist?

A one-page list of the bloodwork markers that tell the truth about what you're really losing and how your body is handling your protocol — pulled from Coach L's book Built to Last. It's a free gift when you register for the Nov 5 live, designed to bring to your provider so that conversation is specific instead of vague.

I'm on Mounjaro or Zepbound instead of Ozempic. Does the same advice apply?

Yes. Different medication, same muscle problem: appetite drops, protein drops, and lean mass is at risk without strength training and a protein plan. The system here — scan, protein target, coach-led strength work, re-scan — applies across GLP-1 medications. Anything about the medication itself goes to your provider.

What if I feel nauseous or weak during a workout on my medication?

Tell your coach — that's what they're there for. Every session is scaled live: loads, pace, and movements get adjusted to your energy that day, and nobody here will push you through feeling unwell. Questions about injection timing or side effects belong to your provider; managing your training load around them is our job.

Do I have to be a member to get GLP-1 support?

No. The Nov 5 live is free and online for anyone, Strong After 40 is a free download, and the Strong on the Shot books are in the store for anyone. If you're local, the full support starts free too — free workout, free Fit3D scan, free consultation — with no membership required to begin.

Membership, Pricing & Policies

What is the 30-Day Reset?

The 30-Day Reset is our $199 starter program: 30 days of UNLIMITED workouts at Regymen Fitness Ascension, 2 FREE Fit3D scans (one at the start, one at the end so you can see your progress), and a 30-day personalized nutrition program from Coach L at Xtreme Performance Nutrition.

What does the $499 program include?

Everything in the 30-Day Reset, plus personalized nutrition AND coaching for the full 30 days, plus your initial supplements for your goal included. It is the most supported way to start — the supplements alone cover a good part of the difference — and most people choose it after their free scan shows them where they stand.

What happens after my 30 days are over?

Your coach sits down with you, reviews your second Fit3D scan next to your first, and goes over membership options that fit your goals and budget. There is no pressure — the results do the talking.

How much is a membership after the Reset?

Straightforward, priced biweekly. Limited (Better) is $74.50 biweekly — 4 workouts biweekly (2 per week), open gym access, and REGYMEN app access. Unlimited (Best) is $101.50 biweekly — unlimited workouts, open gym access, app access, family add-on rates, and 5 guest passes a year. Every membership starts free — first workout, Fit3D scan, and consultation with Coach L — and there is no long-term contract to start. Your coach still reviews your options with you at your scan review, with your numbers in front of you, so you choose with facts instead of a sales pitch.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract to try it?

No. Your first workout, Fit3D scan, and nutrition program are free, and the 30-Day Reset is a one-time 30-day program — no long-term contract to get started.

What membership options do you offer?

Two simple tiers. Limited gives you 4 workouts biweekly — 2 per week — plus open gym access and REGYMEN app access. Unlimited gives you unlimited workouts, open gym access, app access, family add-on rates, and 5 guest passes a year. Every membership starts the same way: your first workout, Fit3D scan, and consultation with Coach L are free. Limited is $74.50 biweekly; Unlimited is $101.50 biweekly.

I don't want a membership. Can I just buy workouts?

Yes — workout packs need no membership and no long-term commitment: a 10-workout pack is $300 (expires in 3 months) and a 20-workout pack is $500 (expires in 6 months), ready when you are. They're a clean fit if your schedule is unpredictable or you want Regymen alongside another routine.

I already belong to another gym. Can I still train at Regymen?

Yes — keep it. Our Limited membership, 2 coached workouts a week, is built for exactly that: you get real coaching, a plan instead of wandering, and a community that knows your name, and keep your other gym for the other days if you want. Plenty of members start exactly this way — usually after one free workout shows them the difference two coached days make.

Do members get guest passes?

Unlimited members get 5 guest passes per year, built into the membership. It's how a lot of our members' spouses, coworkers, and neighbors first walk in — and of course anyone's very first workout, scan, and consult are free anyway.

Do you offer family memberships?

Yes — the Unlimited membership includes family add-on rates, so your household can train together at a better rate than separate memberships. This is a family-run gym; families training together is kind of the point. Exact add-on pricing is covered at your scan review.

Does my membership include nutrition, or is that separate?

It's built in from day one. Every membership starts with your free Fit3D scan and consultation, and Coach L personally builds every member's nutrition program around their scan numbers — protein first, no starvation diets. The Reset tiers deepen it (a 30-day program at $199; full personal coaching plus initial supplements at $499).

Results & Expectations

How fast will I see results?

Most people feel a difference in energy and strength within the first two weeks, and your end-of-month Fit3D scan will show measurable changes in body composition. Everyone's starting point is different — which is exactly why we measure instead of guess. Members like Anthony, who says he got his life back, Cindy, who lost 19% body fat, and Jamie, who went from an XL shirt down to a small, all started with the same free scan.

I'm over 40 and haven't exercised in years. Can I do this?

Absolutely — that is exactly who we coach. The majority of our members are over 35, and members in their 50s, 60s, and beyond train here every week. Your coach scales every workout to you, and strength training is one of the best things you can do for your joints, bones, and energy as you age.

How much weight will I lose in 30 days?

Honest answer: it depends on your starting point, and any gym that guarantees you a number is selling you something. What we can promise is measurement: a Fit3D scan on day one and day 30 that shows exactly what changed — fat, muscle, measurements. Coach L's own before-and-after on our Results page happened in as little as 30 days of dialing in the training, the food, and the measurements. Your results will be yours; they'll also be real.

I'm losing weight but I look softer, not better. Why?

Because the scale can't tell fat from muscle — lose both and you get smaller but softer. That's the problem our whole system is built to solve: strength training and protein protect the muscle, and the Fit3D scan separates fat loss from muscle loss so you can see it. If this is you — especially on a GLP-1 — start with the free scan and let's see what you're actually losing.

Can I lose fat and build muscle at the same time?

Yes — it's called recomposition, and it's most common in people new (or returning) to strength training who eat enough protein. It won't show on the scale, because the scale only sees the total; it shows clearly on a Fit3D scan, which is why we track body fat and lean muscle separately instead of worshipping one number.

Can I really build muscle after 40 or 50?

Yes. It comes a little slower than at 22, and recovery matters more — but with progressive strength training and enough protein, adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s build real muscle. You don't have to take our word for it: Coach L is 51, still trains alongside his members, and his challenge team — the oldest team in the whole challenge — won it.

I'm a woman over 40. Is lifting heavy safe for me — and will it help my bones?

With a coach teaching form and progressing loads sensibly, strength training is one of the best-supported things a woman over 40 can do: loaded muscles pull on bone, and bone responds by getting stronger — alongside the muscle, balance, and confidence that protect your independence. Most of our members are over 35 and plenty are women in their 50s and 60s lifting here every week. For medical conditions, check with your provider first, then bring us their guidance.

Who are Anthony, Jamie, and Cindy?

Your neighbors. Anthony joined after his wife pushed him — his father had a triple bypass at 33 — and says, "I got my life back": he can run and play with his kids without getting tired. Jamie has gone from an XL shirt down to a small. Cindy has lost 19% body fat and says she got her confidence back. Their full stories are on our Results page — and every one of them started with a free workout and a free scan.

How do you celebrate member progress?

Like it matters, because it does. The Milestone Wall honors consistency — Brittany has logged 1,000 workouts here; Jesper Holm and Renee Legendre are at 750; Bridgette Kerr and Matthew (who can only make weekends) are at 50 and counting. Add Transformation Tuesdays, member spotlights, and birthday workouts with your name on a sign — this gym notices when you show up.

I can only come twice a week. Is that enough to matter?

Yes. Two coached, progressive workouts a week — the exact shape of our Limited membership — beats five random solo sessions, because the work is planned, your form is watched, and your nutrition matches your training. Most members thrive at 3–4 days, but plenty of real change here started at two. Consistency you can keep beats intensity you can't.

I've joined gyms before and quit. Why would this be different?

Because the usual reason people quit — no plan, no feedback, nobody notices — is designed out here. You get a coach who knows your name and your numbers, a scan that proves progress even when the scale stalls, a nutrition program built for you, and a room full of neighbors expecting you. Our members put it simply: they joined for the workout and stayed for the community.

I travel a lot for work. Can I still make progress?

Yes, if the plan is built for your real life — and here it is. Workout packs and flexible training frequency fit unpredictable schedules, your nutrition targets travel with you, and your Fit3D re-scans keep score across the gaps. Tell your coach your travel pattern at your consult; the program gets built around your schedule, not against it.

About Regymen

Who are the coaches?

Regymen is family-run. Coach L (Laie Wong) leads programming and nutrition, his wife Emily Wong is our head coach, and their daughter Tiana Wong coaches too. You will see the same familiar faces every session — coaches who know your name, your goals, and your limitations.

Do you do anything for the community?

Every quarter we host a free 90-minute outdoor community workout, open to everyone — member or not. Bring a friend. Fitness works better together, and Gonzales shows up for it.

How do I get started today?

Call (225) 744-6495 or book on this site for your free workout and Fit3D scan. We will find a time that fits your schedule, and you will leave your first visit with your scan results and a personalized nutrition program — all free.

Who owns Regymen Fitness Ascension?

The Wong family. Laie Wong — Coach L — owns the gym with his wife Emily, our head coach; their daughter Tiana coaches too. They live, work, and raise their family right here in Gonzales, and they've owned this gym for more than eight years. When you train here, you train with the owners — they're on the floor every day.

Is Regymen a franchise or locally owned?

This location is locally owned and family-run — Laie and Emily Wong's business, built in Ascension Parish, not a big-box franchise dropped on a map. Regymen is the training system we coach; the people who own the place are your neighbors, and they're the ones coaching you.

How long has Regymen been in Gonzales?

The Wongs have owned this gym for more than eight years, and Coach L has been coaching for sixteen years — long enough that our Milestone Wall has members with 750 and 1,000 workouts logged here. This is a hometown gym with a track record, not a pop-up.

What does "We don't guess" mean?

It's our operating rule. Your starting point comes from a Fit3D scan, not an eyeball. Your nutrition targets come from your numbers — and in the full program, your blood work, medications, and supplements — not a template. Your progress is proven by re-scans, not hoped for. We don't guess. We measure. No hype, just results.

What books has Coach L written?

Three you'll find in our store: Strong After 40 — training, protein, and staying strong after 40 — is a FREE download, audiobook included. Strong on the Shot (Women's and Men's editions) is the GLP-1 muscle-protection playbook, $15 eBook / $35 with audiobook. The Starter Macro Plan turns your numbers into meals and portions for $9. Every book has a free audio sample. His support book Built to Last is sold next door at Xtreme Performance Nutrition.

What is Strong After 40?

Coach L's free book on training, protein, and staying strong after 40 — the exact philosophy our members live: strength training with a coach, enough protein to protect muscle, and numbers instead of guesses. It's a free download (eBook + full audiobook) at regymenfitnessascension.com/strong-after-40, and it's also one of the free gifts when you register for the Nov 5 GLP-1 live.

What is Xtreme Performance Nutrition, and how is it connected to the gym?

It's our sister store — same family, right here in Gonzales at 14639 Airline Hwy. Coach L builds members' nutrition programs from Xtreme, and it's where supplement recommendations are honestly explained and filled. One family, two front doors: training at Regymen, nutrition at Xtreme, built to work together.

Do local teachers and school teams really train here?

Yes. Ascension Parish teachers are regulars — their workouts are some of the happiest hours in this gym — and the Dutchtown High School girls put in their work here too. We back all four local programs — East Ascension, St. Amant, Dutchtown, and Prairieville — and on Friday nights we're in the stands like everybody else.

Where can I read reviews of Regymen?

On Google, where we hold 4.9 stars from 120+ reviews. Members tend to say the same things: the coaches are next level on form and technique, the workouts are always different, and the community is welcoming. You'll find Mark, Connor, Ryan, and a lot of your other neighbors there.

Do you have showers and locker rooms?

Yes. Regymen has showers and a locker room, so you can train before work and head straight out — plus a hydration station to refill before and after your workout, and equipment rental if you need it. Nutrition counseling is part of the house too: every member's program is built by Coach L.

HYROX Training

What is HYROX?

HYROX is a fitness race with the same format in every city: a 1 km run, then one functional workout station, repeated eight times. The eight stations are the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. There are Open, Pro, Doubles, and Relay divisions, so first-timers and serious competitors race the same course at their own level.

Where can I train for HYROX near Gonzales and Baton Rouge?

Regymen Fitness Ascension in Gonzales is a HYROX training gym serving Ascension Parish and the Baton Rouge area. HYROX is one of our three coach-led workout formats, with dedicated HYROX workouts every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 7:30 AM. The room has the sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, wall balls, and carries you need to train every station. See our HYROX training page for the full breakdown.

When are HYROX workouts at Regymen?

Dedicated HYROX workouts run every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 7:30 AM. Every session is coach-led, and every station and weight is scaled to your level.

Do Regymen members get early access to HYROX races?

Yes. Early-access codes to HYROX races are a member benefit at Regymen, so members get first shot at race entries before general sale — including regional races like Houston and Atlanta in spring 2027.

I’ve never done HYROX. Can I start?

Yes — most of our HYROX crew started from zero. The coaches scale every station and running interval to your current fitness. Start with a free workout, a FREE Fit3D body scan, and a free consultation, and we will map your path from there.

What are the eight HYROX stations?

In order, with a 1 km run before each one: SkiErg 1,000 m, sled push 50 m, sled pull 50 m, burpee broad jumps 80 m, rowing 1,000 m, farmer’s carry 200 m, sandbag lunges 100 m, and 100 wall balls. That is 8 km of running in total, and the format is identical at every HYROX race on earth.

What weights are used in HYROX?

In the Open division, women push a 102 kg sled and men 152 kg (sled included); sled pull 78 kg / 103 kg; farmer’s carry 2 x 16 kg / 2 x 24 kg; sandbag 10 kg / 20 kg; wall ball 4 kg / 6 kg for 100 reps. Pro women race at the men’s Open weights, and Pro men go heavier still. At Regymen you train on the same stations at loads scaled to you.

How long does a HYROX race take? What is a good HYROX time?

Most racers finish between 1 and 2 hours. Across more than 260,000 recent results, the median Open finish is about 1:26 for men and 1:35 for women, and most first-timers land between 1:40 and 2:10. The race is self-paced — you can walk the run segments and rest at stations. For a first race, finishing is a good time.

Do I need to qualify for HYROX?

No. Anyone 16 or older can register online for Open, Pro, Doubles, or Relay — no qualifying time, no invitation. Popular races sell out, which is why Regymen members get early-access codes 48 hours before general sale.

What are the HYROX divisions?

Open is the standard solo division, where first-timers start. Pro is the same course with heavier weights. Doubles pairs you with a partner — you run together and split the station work. Relay is a team of four, each person doing two runs and two stations. There is also an Adaptive division, and Youngstars races for ages 8-15 at select events.

HYROX vs CrossFit — what’s the difference?

HYROX is a race with a fixed format: the same 8 runs and 8 stations, in the same order, at every event in the world, so your finish time is comparable anywhere. CrossFit workouts change daily and include Olympic lifting and gymnastics skills. HYROX movements are simple enough to learn in one session, and half the race is running.

How much does a HYROX race entry cost?

In the US, a solo entry typically runs about $130 to $195 depending on the city. Doubles costs a little less per person, and Relay is about $95 per person. Prices climb as start waves fill, and big-city races sell out months ahead — Regymen members get early-access codes 48 hours before general sale, which means first shot at the early waves.

When are the next HYROX races near Louisiana?

HYROX Houston runs April 1-4, 2027 at NRG Center, and HYROX Atlanta runs April 23-25, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The Regymen crew is training for both, and members receive early-access codes before general sale. Full details are on our HYROX training page.

What happens if a HYROX race sells out?

It happens often — big-city races can sell out within days of general sale. Regymen members, and anyone holding a 10-pack or 20-pack, receive early-access codes a full 48 hours before general signup opens; you pick your code up at the front desk. In October 2026, our members booked Houston before the public sale even started.

How much does HYROX training cost at Regymen?

HYROX workouts are included in every Regymen membership: Limited is $74.50 biweekly and Unlimited is $101.50 biweekly, and both include all three coached formats (BURN, BUILD, and HYROX). A 10-pack is $300 and a 20-pack is $500, and pack holders also qualify for early-access race codes. Your first workout, Fit3D scan, and consultation are free.

Is there a HYROX gym near Baton Rouge?

Yes — Regymen Fitness Ascension in Gonzales, an easy drive down Airline Highway from Baton Rouge. We serve Baton Rouge, Prairieville, Dutchtown, Geismar, and all of Ascension Parish, with coach-led HYROX workouts every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 7:30 AM.
